Design Done Differently Cabinetry designer Monica Boeckenstedt worked in the Cedar Rapids and surrounding area for over 5 years. In August of 2006, she decided design could be done differently and created 929 Design Inc. At 929, Monica brings the design to the client.  Everyone’s schedules are hectic today and taking on a new construction or remodel project requires research and a big time commitment. She’s found meeting clients at their home when kids are napping, catching someone right before they head off to soccer practice or meeting at a customer’s office makes the design process more convenient and enjoyable. She also feels determining a customer’s project needs is easier by visiting their home to see what they like about their current spaces and what dislike about them. With computer or hand drawn cabinetry plans, clients can take a tour of their new rooms and know exactly how their new spaces will function. Monica then guides customers through color and style selections as well. Monica also works with builders to create kitchen designs that will help sell their homes. She stays on top of market trends by attending kitchen and bath trade shows and attending classes.
