Luehrsmann Remodel
“Monica took the basic ideas that we had and created a kitchen that was perfect for the space available and customized to fit our families needs. We were so impressed with the attention to detail and the pride she took in her work. She kept the job right on schedule and was hands on every step of the way. We are extremely satisfied with our new kitchen and would highly recommend her.”

BEFORE PHOTOS
The objective of this project was to increase the size of the kitchen, make it more functional,
and increase the storage and select materials more in line with the client’s style. Prior to working with 929 Design, the client had met with a number of other designers. However, no one designed a plan that would achieve the customer’s goals and keep them in their budget.

PROPOSED
DESIGN One big factor that enabled the project to stay in budget was working within the existing interior spaces. This included keeping the existing windows and not doing any exterior changes. Square footage was available in the home but it just wasn’t set up to work for the customer. The formal dining room replaced the formal living room allowing a breakfast bar, desk area, large pantry storage and display area to be built into the old dining room space.

UNDER
CONSTRUCTION
An arched wall was built to define the space between the dining and new kitchen area. Additional
hardwood floors were added during construction and existing wood floors were refinished to blend seamlessly together. Under cabinet and can lights were added to increase and improve lighting in the room.

COMPLETED PROJECT Birch cabinets with a brown glaze plus more mouldings were installed giving the room a warm, rich look. The staggered heights and depths of the cabinets created interest. Stainless steel appliances are pulled together with the hardware, faucet and sink. Overall, opening up the room created a kitchen not only for cooking but a place to gather.
